Protz from The Wood

One of the world’s leading beer writers, historians, lecturers and tasters is heading to #MBCF20 to lead visitors though a special tasting of beers as they used to be; served from the wood.

In the first of a series of talks and tastings to be announced, Roger heads to the festival on Friday 24th January to host a repeat of 2019’s sell out tasting of Beers From The Wood.

He will carefully select five beers from the festivals unrivalled range of beers from a wooden cask and talk attendees though the times when all draught beer was dispensed from wooden barrels.

Tickets on sale for Manchester Beer & Cider Festival

Manchester may have everything but a beach – but drinkers can anticipate sniffing sea air next January. They are invited to explore from coast to coast as tickets go on sale for the North’s biggest celebration of beer and cider.

Now in its seventh year, CAMRA’s Manchester Beer and Cider Festival features beers from the UK and further afield. For the return to Manchester Central from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th January 2020, organisers will be shipping in beers from across the North. There’ll be no need for maps with the huge new Coast To Coast bar showcasing ales from Merseyside to Humberside via Lancashire, Manchester and Yorkshire.

The event attract visitors from all over the world to Manchester, pouring through the doors to sample some of the very best beers and ciders from the UK’s booming brewing and cider making industries. Fans of foreign beers will be well catered for with an excellent selection promised from Europe and North America.

Seven Up

Manchester Beer & Cider Festival to be bigger and better than ever

The big one is back at Manchester Central this January as plans for the seventh Manchester Beer and Cider Festival (MBCF) take shape.

Running from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th (with a preview evening for CAMRA members on 22nd), the festival will be the biggest yet. The festival is known for its innovation, with traditional and modern beer styles showcased side by side up here in Manchester well before the Great British Beer Festival in London took the keg plunge last month. Multiple bars give drinkers overwhelming choice, but each part of the event is reviewed to present improvements.
