Thanks for your interest in Manchester Beer & Cider Festival.
We hope that our website contains answers to most of the questions which you may have about the event. However, we do get e-mail enquiries asking questions which we think are clear. So here is a round-up on answers to the most common questions.
Q. When is the festival / are the dates confirmed?
The 2018 festival will be held from 24th – 27th January 2018. Click here for details.
Q. Can I buy tickets in advance?
Advance tickets will go on sale at 9am on 1st August 2017. Click here for the advance tickets page.
Q. Will CAMRA Members get free or discounted entry.
CAMRA members will be eligible to claim £4 of free beer vouchers after entry on production of a valid membership card.
CAMRA members can also gain free entry to the members only session on Wednesday 18th January (5pn – 9pm). You do not need tickets – just show a valid membership card on the door.
Q. Can I bring my own glass
It is recommended to hire or purchase / hire a glass on arrival at the festival. This will avoid risk of damaging your glass in transit and ensure you have a glass which complies with regulations. All drinks must be served into lined glasses showing the CE mark. Drinks may not be served into unmarked glasses, tankards or other containers. If you must bring your own glass, check that it is lined and carries the CE mark.
Q. Are children allowed?
Children are permitted until 7pm daily. Children must be under supervision at all times and may not approach the bars.
Q. Will there be gluten free / vegetarian / vegan beers?
There will be a selection of gluten free beers in cask and bottle. Details will be posted on website in advance of the festival.
While many beers are fined (cleared) with isinglass, an increasing number of beers are either unfined or fined using other methods and therefore suitable for vegetarians. We will provide a list of those beers which we have been advised by brewers are unfined and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Q. Is there a cash machine at the venue?
There is a free ATM/cash machine in the foyer of the Central Hall.
Alternatively, the closest banking facilities are: Royal Bank of Scotland, Mosley Street; Barclays, Mosley Street; Barclays ATM, Deansgate (near junction with Peter Street); Tesco Bank ATM, Quay Street
Q. Can I plug in my phone charger
There are no public power sockets at Manchester Central. However, there will be a free phone charging station where you can lock your phone in a secure locker while it gets a boost.
Q. I have a food stall, can I bring it to the festival?
Food concessions at the festival will be managed by Manchester Central. Please contact them on 0161 834 2700

Q. We sell wonderful plastic cups that you really want to use…
We have already placed our order for glassware – we have no further requirements for alternative glasses, plastic cups or any other such vessels.
Q. I am in a band / am a performer. Can I play at the festival?
Final decisions have not been made about entertainment. We are primarily about beer, cider & perry so we will not be booking any loud bands although we are considering an “open mic” stage.

Q. I have a disability. How do I book a ticket for carer?
Visitors who requiring the presence of a carer should buy tickets for themselves for the relevant session as normal. A carer may accompany you and will be admitted free of charge subject to proof of carer status. Carers wishing to buy beer & cider must hire a glass as other visitors do. if you have special needs, please contact the organiser via our contact page.
